More from shooting our movie. It gets weird. (Taken with instagram)

“Festival Film: A Short Film About The Making Of A Short Film For Submission To A Short Film Festival” wrapped filming tonight. It took, scattered, about 5 bouts of all-day filming. It took our faithful cinematographer and editor, Jon, countless days of editing as we filmed and wrote and rewrote, upon realizing our original ideas might be unfeasible (a 100 person crowd scene, a Rube Goldenberg Death Machine, a scene in outer space). But now it’s just some massaging and minor tweaks until we submit it to Hofstra’s Film Festival.
It feels good to get it done. It feels good to see the script we wrote in January filmed, almost verbatim. It feels good to know that our 17, maybe 18 minute short film was probably the most taxing work Student Loans For Beer Money has ever done. It feels good to cram together every stupid, insane, disjointed idea we’ve come up with for 4 months in one movie. Like a gay Nazi romance, casual nudity, Nick And Nora’s Infinite Playlist parodies, a huge infomercial for marijuana and an odd amount of references to Friendly’s Fribbles. It feels even nicer to be able to explain almost every part of this movie and still have it make very little sense to the uninitiated.
If you like SL4B$ you’ll definitely love this. If you’re “meh” about us, you might be won over. Or you might be completely and totally repulsed. Who knows. Who cares. The thing is done.
You should see it. You should definitely see it.
